Szilvásvárad is a Small mountain town 25 kilometers North of Eger, in the Szalajka-valley, which forms the Western edge of the Bükk Mountain National Park in North-eastern Hungary.

 Main sights are: Veil-waterfall, Rock-spring, Open-air Museum which is unique in Europe, a Game Preserve, Caveman?s Cave, Stock farm of trouts, Fish Lakes, Narrow-gauge Railway and the Hungarian Lippizaner stud farm where horseback riding and carriage driving are attractions.

The beautiful baroque city of Eger is about 20 minutes by car and has all the shopping facilities you would expect including a shopping mall, Tesco and Lidl supermarkets.

The city centre itself is a worth visiting to see the magnificent Basilica and the castle.

Visit the narrow alleyways in the inner part of Eger near the castle to find many cafes and traditional local shops.

Beside its historic sights and its thermal baths, Eger is famous for its wines. It produces both red and white wines of high quality. The famous and traditional varieties of the region are Egri Leányka, Egerszóláti Olaszrizling, Debr?i Hárslevel? (whites), and Egri Bikavér (a red). More recently, Chardonnay and Pinot noir wines have appeared. The region's wines are said to bear a resemblance to those of Burgundy.

The Bükk mountain range is a member of the Northern Central Mountain range, differing from the rest of the volcanic mountains in its geological past. The majority is made up of sedimentary stones, particularly dolomite and limestone.

The highlands are more than 800m and are surrounded by sharp, rugged rocks including Bél-K?,Pes-K?,Tar-K?,Vörös-K? and K?vek(K? in Hungarian means stone) and give stunning panoramic views to the southern foot of the range.

There are many other areas to see including Lake Lázbérc which is only 15minutes away where you can relax or maybe do some fishing, walking or mountain biking.

The ski resort of Bánkút is only 30 minutes away from the property.
